Leni Riefenstahl, Reichsparteitag 1934
Leni Riefenstahl “Triumph of the will”, clipping
August Sanders son Erich died 1943 after ten years of imprisonment by the Nazis. August Sanders portraits didn’t fit the ideas of true Germans, just opposed to Leni Riefenstahl’s machinations. Sander’s book Face of our Time was seized in 1936 and the plates destroyed.
Sebastian Haffner quit his civil service job as early as 1933 and immigrated to England 1938. Sebastian Haffner is a pseudonym; he took Sebastian from Bach and Haffner from Mozart’s “Haffner” symphony.
Jascha Heifetz plays Rondo (from Serenade No. 7 “Haffner”, K. 250) by Mozart.
