I guess the weakness of Arakis “Lucky Hole” is its lack of editing.
This series I just posted goes on and on.
(8 more photographs to go).
The images becomes more obscene and less artful,
ending up in plain tiring redundancy.
One of the possibilities of art
is to trespass boundaries
without actually hurting anybody.
Just as a kick for the brain.
Looking at this book,
I experience my boundaries,
my fascination and my distaste.
I think about taboos,
about morality,
about desire,
about my life led according to the conventions of society.
An image like the above you will see neither in the world of art
nor in the realms of pornography.
