Fig.12 Human Nervous System, The Hunterian Museum, London, UK


The human nervous system was first recorded in 1645
by dissecting the nerves from the corpse of the prisoner,
and drying and pasting them to a wooden panel.
The British surgeon and collector John Hunter acquired them
in 1809 and put them on display next to a Dodo.
