Fig.30 Sleeping Beauty, Madame Tussaudes, London, UK


Jeanne Becu, comtesse du Barry was considered a great beauty in her time.
After she was beheaded in the year 1755 in Paris,
her head was cast in wax and sent to London
where it was used by Madame Tussaud
to create the oldest surviving waxwork in the museum.
