Venice Biennale 2013
I have learned about myself that I am quite touchy regarding all kinds of abuse.
What hurts me is the effect any kind of abuse has on the lives of the afflicted.
Abuse alters lives, sometimes even destroys lives.
Nobody who has been abused in any form can live the life he or she has lived before.
It´s like cutting off the branches of a tree,
it´s cutting of possibilities.
I can´t say that I like the sculpture by Yoko Ono, this pile of corpses that reminds me off the body piles of German concentration camps.
But the whole installation: the statements of the women on the wall,
the strong sound/music by Yoko Ono, and the possibility for the women to sound their pain,
touched me. This really touched me.
